IC Engine under extreme heat and pressure Edit

Can you please explain what changes or interruptions might take place when an IC engine is subjected to extreme temperature and pressure? Will we need more lubrication? What sort of lubricants we should use?

What will happen to the power output of the shaft? Which engine can perform less worse (diesel of petrol) than the other under such situation? How can these changes be related to an engine working under very cold temperature?
